Integrating conventional & complementary therapies

This practice has been established to offer a niche consultation service to patients with a past or present diagnosis of cancer and their loved ones. My formal qualifications include:

  • an undergraduate degree in Medical Science from UNSW

  • a post-graduate degree in Medicine from USyd

  • specialty training in Radiation Oncology and FRANZCR

  • certification in functional medicine from IFM

I have 10 years’ experience working in a conventional medical setting treating and caring for patients with cancer. My non-conventional training includes experience in psychoenergetic medicine, natural therapies, complementary therapies, diet and lifestyle intervention, and the holistic approach to treating disease and achieving wellness.

I combine the disciplines of conventional and complementary medicine to offer an integrative approach to care. My experience has provided me with a deep understanding of the needs of patients with cancer and of the principles missing in both the conventional and alternative medicines.

“I passionately believe in combining the disciplines to create a more balanced approach to treatment with the aim of achieving long-term and sustainable results.”

To Empower cancer patients and physicians with more balanced, nurturing care

I believe in wellness, collaboration and access. I believe in values, integrity and doing the greatest good. I believe in combining the scientific and spiritual principles we have been gifted in this world to achieve the highest quality and experience of this life.

I have a vision that individuals who have been affected by cancer receive a balanced, empowering and nurturing approach to care and access to information, support and community that render them the best version of themselves. I have a vision that physicians can have fulfilling and heart-centered careers effortlessly without being overworked. I have a vision that this can be achieved and that it is accessible to all who seek it.

My journey from the hospital to an integrative practice

I am an Integrative Cancer Care Consultant who believes in combining the discipline of medicine with the holistic principles of health and wellness.

My academic background includes a Bachelor of Medical Science from the University of New South Wales followed by a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney, Australia. Following my Internship and Residency in The Wollongong Hospital, I embarked on advanced training as a Radiation Oncologist in the Northern Sydney Cancer Centre after which I was admitted to Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists as a Radiation Oncologist.  I completed a clinical and research fellowship in Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada where my field of research and practice was in stereotactic liver radiotherapy which is a focussed radiation treatment for primary or metastatic tumours in the liver. I returned to specialist practice as a Radiation Oncologist in Australia where my areas of subspecialisation were cancers of the liver, lung, haematological system, breast, head and neck and skin. In particular my scientific research centred around improving the precision of focused radiotherapy, minimising the toxicity of radiation treatment and assessing the inflammatory indicators for cancer prognosis. I have multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as media appearances for film and print.

In 2016, I commenced my integrative training including a research study in faith healing communities, a term at the Hippocrates Health Institute where I completed a Health Educator Program, observorship in natural and ayurvedic medicine practice and seminars on psychoenergetic and information medicine. I went on to complete a formal certification in functional medicine and complete 2 years in an integrative cancer clinic in the USA focusing on the metabolic approach to cancer. Since 2018 I have been consulting with patients and healthcare professionals on the integrative principles of cancer care in Australia and worldwide and am receiving increasing exposure in the integrative oncology community. I am a member of the Society for Integrative Oncology, I sit on the advisory board of a number of cancer coaching programs and I continue to be involved in trainee education and scientific research.

Combining My formal qualifications in medicine and adding the holistic principles of health and wellness, I am passionate about offering a balanced and integrative approach to cancer care for treatment and recovery as well as for enhancing quality of life and optimising cancer outcomes through minimising the risk of recurrence and maximising the chance of survival.
